Memorial Wekeend Extravaganza

Hey guys!  I have been reading a marathon of books this weekend.  Thanks to forums and fellow bloggers I was introduced to Abbi Glines.  Lucky me!  because I have fallen in love with all her books.  If you haven't read any of her books I strongly recommend you start with the Vincent Boys.

This is book number one of a series and it will drag you by the hair.  I mean I could not put it down and read it one night.

Being the good girl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Ashton Gray has grown weary of playing the part to please her parents, and to be worthy of the town’s prince charming, Sawyer Vincent. Maybe That’s why she’s found herself spending time with Sawyer’s cousin, Beau, while he’s away for the summer camping with his family. Beau is nothing like her perfect boyfriend. He’s the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, dangerous in ways she’s only day dreamed about, and the one guy she should stay away from.
Beau never envied Sawyer his loving parents, his big nice home, or his position as quarterback. He loves him like a brother. Which is why he's tried everything in his power to keep his distance from Sawyer’s girlfriend. Even if he has loved her since the age of five, Ashton is Sawyer’s girl, so therefore she’s off limits. But when Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton, the one girl Beau would move Heaven and Earth for, decides she wants to get into trouble. Stabbing the one person who’s always accepted him and stood by him in the back, is the cost of finally holding Ashton Gray in his arms. Is she worth losing his cousin over?.... Hell Yeah.

Here are the book covers for the rest of her books & her website.  I will be posting my reviews soon for these books.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 New Posters

Today Summit Entertainment revealed, through an online scavenger hunt, three new character posters for the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Check out the new designs below, featuring Bella, Edward and Jacob.

Opening in the theaters on November 16, the final chapter in Melissa Rosenberg's supernatural romance is directed by Bill Condon with a script by Melissa Rosenberg.

What a Boy Wants by Nyrae Dawn

Courtesy of watching his mom’s relationships, Sebastian Hawkins knows what girls need to do to get a guy. He has what he considers a PHD in hooking up. When he needs extra cash for a car, Sebastian starts an online venture as The Hook-up Doctor, to anonymously help girls land the guy of their dreams. Of course, his services don’t offer a happily-ever-after guarantee. He’s seen firsthand getting together never means staying together.

And then he falls in love…

With the last girl he would expect…

Totally not in his game plan.

Suddenly, Sebastian finds himself muddled in the game he’s always prided himself on. He can’t even pick up girls at parties anymore! Why would anyone want to be in love when it turns you into a stuttering, screwed-up, mess with really lame stalker tendencies? Stalking? Totally not his gig.

But the Hook-up Doctor won’t let himself go down easily. He’s always known how to give a girl what she wants and now it’s time to figure out what a boy wants… and he definitely plans on getting it.
---------
I absolutely love the introduction to our main character  Sebastian. It was interesting to meet "The Hook Up Doctor"  in all his glory.  Sebastian aka Bastian is your average know it all and get it all teenage boy. He is used to having his way and his good looks had been a blessing for this.  He has created a blog in which he is the hook up doctor helping out young females achieve their conquest with the boy of their dreams.  This is his main source of income.

He is a lucky guy with three best friends who care for him but everything goes down the drain when he realizes he is falling for his best girl.

Will he drop everything for her?

You've got to read this trust me.

Ilussions by: Aprilynne Pike

Illusions (Wings #3)

Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.

But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.

Oh my Tamani!  I love love love that Lauren finally accepted her feelings for Tamani.  I was so happy to read this book because my favorite character was more present than the previous books.

Can I say HOT! chemistry between the main characters is AMAZING!.  So if you are interested in reading this book please have a fan with you to help cool off. :)

Laurel's world keeps getting complicated by the minute.  Strange things happen and now a rogue winter fairy.  Say what?  yes the most powerful type of fairy was pretending to be a foreign exchange student all the time while Tamani was wooing her to get information.

We get more of a glimpse as to the back story for Tamani and Laurel's background

I give this book 4 out of five hearts.

Spells by: Aprilynne Pike

Spells (Wings #2)

Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.

When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?

I was so pleased to buy this sequel.  On the first book I fell in love with Lauren's world and wanted to find out more about it.  In this book Laurel learns more about her faerie truth and her real world.  She is dating David but still has deep feelings for Tamani who is clearly on a mission to win her heart.

The characters that were introduced in ‘Wings’ were explored more in this second novel. Laurel has been thrust into a position of great responsibility and is being torn between her human life and her inherent faerie gifts. David and Tamani’s love for Laurel intensified greatly and had me on the edge of my seat wondering which part of her she would follow to decide who she wanted to be with.

The chemistry between both these characters and Laurel was so strong and alluring it made me heartbroken at the end when she actually made her decision. Both these guys have amazing qualities that any girl would love, but as in most hard choices in life, Laurel had to be true to herself in deciding which life to lead.

I am completely in aw of the writing style of the author.  Every little detail explained helps to attract readers of  all ages to this amazing story.

My favorite character continues to be Tamani and I will continue rooting form him until the end.

I give this book four of five hearts.

Wings by: Aprilynne Pike's

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words.Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed foreve
I was introduced to Wings by Aprilynne Pike when searching for a fairy read on Amazon and sister blogs.  After reading the reviews I decided to dive in head first and boy was I happy I did.  Wings is a story of love, sacrifice and friendship.

It's extremely different from any other fairy story out there.  These fairies sprout and according to the season their rank and power will flourish.

Our main character Laurel has been sheltered from the world.  Raised by two hippie like parents she suddenly moves to a new town and starts school for the very first time.  Throughout her life she has been home-schooled and this is a first of many for hers.

Things are changing before her eyes.  After making new friends and acclimating to her new life she finds that, she was left on her parents’ doorstep in a basket, with no knowledge of where she came from–but no one could have predicted this.

We finally find out she is not even human; she’s a faerie. She was sent to her parents to guard the land that they lived on, land that holds something very important to the faeries, but when they got an offer to buy the land and her family moved to a new town, things suddenly became dangerous for the faeries.

Laurel's house is surrounded by sentinels (fairy Knights) that guard the gate to Avalon.  Now the peace in Avalon is threatened, and Laurel must help save the faeries’ secret, protect her family, and sort out her feelings for a classmate, David.  On the other side is a faerie sentinel appointed to her protection called Tamani whom she also feels attracted to.

Wings is an  amazing debut novel for Aprilynne Pike.  She is a talented writer, has created and amazing world and explains it very well.  From the first page I was captivated by the story and intrigued to find out more of this carefully painted world in my head.

The characters seemed so realistic. Tamani is my favorite having a sworn life protector is not taken lightly by me.   I was blessed to listen to the audiobook after reading the paperback and I must say I love Tamani's accent.

I would strongly recommend this book and I give it 5 out of 5 hearts.
