I am a huge fan
of Nyrae Dawn. So much I was going all
fangirl on her via email. I have read
every single book written by her and every time it amazes me how easy I fall in
love with her characters and stories. Not
every day you come across a book that sucks you right in and you cannot put
down. But every single story written by
the talented Nyrae is simply and addiction.
I had the opportunity
to ask Nyrae a few questions about her new book Four Summers (available now)
and I wanted to share this with you.
Nyrae what inspired you to write this story?
"I love “summer books”. Stories like THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY have always been some of my favorites, so I’ve always wanted to write a book that takes place over the summer like this one. But, I’m also a huge fan of romance. I love epic romances, and I don’t think there are a whole lot of them out there. I’m talking those long running love stories where no matter what gets thrown at a couple, or how many years it is, they find their way back to each other. The Outlander (adult book) is an example of an epic romance to me and though I don’t think anyone could touch Jamie and Claire’s love story, I wanted to give it a shot. I took my love of epic romances and my love of summer stories and put them together to create FOUR SUMMERS."
Did you use any visual aids for inspiration?
Did you use any visual aids for inspiration?
"It’s funny because I almost never use visual aids like that. I don’t usually pick actors for my characters. I should try to do that more often because people always ask! LOL."
What was the hardest part of writing this story?
What was the hardest part of writing this story?
"Stuffing four different summers into one book and
making it flow well, making each summer not be too long, but also enough that the reader will (I hope) feel like they experienced it with Charlotte and Nathaniel."
Is there a message in this novel that you would like your readers to grasp?

"I guess it could be to follow your heart and your dreams!"

"FAÇADE book two in The Games series releases July 2nd. After that is OUT OF PLAY which I cowrote with Jolene Perry. It’s out August 6th."
Four
Summers by Nyrae Dawn
Charlotte
Gates is tired of being Charlie Rae. She loves the lake she was raised on,
their rental cabins, and spending her nights under the stars…but inside she
yearns for more.
After his freshman year, Nathaniel Chase’s family spends their first summer at The Village. From the beginning Charlotte intrigues him. She’s the girl who always says what’s on her mind, wins at night games, and each time she looks through her telescope, gets lost in the sky.
Over the course of four summers together, Charlotte and Nathaniel become best friends, share firsts, mend broken hearts, protect each other’s secrets, overcome tragedies…fall in love. And say goodbye…
Charlie wants out of The Village. Nate wants her to have her stars. And they dream of being able to do it all together. But life isn’t as easy as their summers.
Each summer is told in alternating points of view between Charlie and Nate. Journey with the pair, and their friends, as they share their story about growing up, discovering who they are, making tough choices, and falling in love again and again.
