"I won't tell anyone, Echo. I promise." Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. "You didn't do that-did you? It was done to you?" No one ever asked that question. They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.

So wrong for each other...and yet so right.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

"An edgy romance that pulls you in and never lets go. I was hooked!"-Gena Showalter,  New York Times bestselling author of the Intertwined series.

My Summary...

Echo Emerson had it all.  She was popular, had a great group of friends and dated the one boy every girl in school wanted. She was your average popular girl dating the school jock.  Her life is turned upside down when her older brother is killed in the war, her mother looses her mind and her parents split revealing that his father has fallen in love with Echo's babysitter.  With everything that happens an incident occurs to her leaving her scared on her arms and she has no recollection of what happened.

We find Echo goes through very trying times in which she endures humiliation, insecurity and neglect.  She feels alone and abandoned by both parents.  With all the emotions consuming her she tries very hard to return to her old life, but is it possible?  Will they accept her back.

After some time back in school she decides to return to her friends.  The rumors have been surrounding the hallways.  She has been called a freak, cutter and many more harsh names.  She has been appointed counseling sessions at school to keep her sanity and continue to improve.  In her therapy sessions she is assigned to tutor a boy.

Oh my word!  this boy Noah Hutchinson is a ladies man.  Your typical bad boy with the good looks and evil grin.  Underneath his exterior lies a broken heart with a sad story.  Slowly these two start falling for each other and jeez talk about sexual tension anyone!  It is good.

My Thoughts...

Many teenager endure situations that are similar to the main characters.  This story was very realistic and the character development was well done.  We are introduced to our main characters and their past is clearly explained creating an emotional attachment to the reader.

You will be surprised by how fast these teenagers grow and understand that following your heart and doing the right thing might not always feel good.  In the end this book is about self empowerment and motivation.  Echo and Noah work together and fit like perfect puzzle pieces.

I strongly recommend this book
5 out of 5 stars
